A massive hello and all that from a seriously hot India..
Man is it hot, I was in a desert yesterday at it was hitting 60 degrees yep that's right '60 degrees'
So I have been here for the last 3 or 4 days now, I am not too sure what day it is today but it can happen very easy over here..
I arrived into India not knowing or having a clue what it was going to be like, Boy was i in for a surprise!!! My first impression where not to great to be honest. The were people everywhere all in need of good washes. The amount of people sleeping in the streets was unreal, They sleep everywhere I kid u not even in the most random places. Delhi felt like a 3rd world city to me.
Just had to move Internet Cafes as i was cooking slowly in the last one. So as i said i arrived into Delhi thinking what that F**k!!
I have seen nothing like it before. At first i was not to sure if i was going to like it here in India but as always everything is not always what it appears to be.
India is defo not for the faint hearted, there no comforts like Thailand. You rough it like everybody else here. Which happens to be over 1 billion and counting people. I am in a city which has the population of Ireland 4 times over and the city seems tiny.
Day 1 was spent looking around getting hassled for cash and learning how the local people lived, Decided to head out of Delhi and head west to a city called Jasaimer. You are probably thinking so far he is having a crap time out there!! Well it turned out its just big Delhi that i didn't like. I ended up getting a train for 26 hours all the way to Jasaimer, yes 26 hours.. During this we went thru 2 sand storms which filled up the train with dust,
had to share a cabin with 20 others locals for 3 hours lots of fun there.. Nearly all kids over here no wait nearly everybody u met wants something off you and there are not afraid to ask. I was drinking some rum and coke on the train with some other guys from Ireland. Helps on long journeys as you know. I was sort of half asleep when some kid no more than 6 came along and said could he have my coke bottle I didn't think much of it as i was driffing in and out of sleep, Next thing i saw him drink the coke and forget it was loaded with coke!!! Funnest thing i have seen in ages the poor little kid didn't know what the going on with his coke. His face was priceless.
Jasaimar it such a beautiful city.there is a old fort built on big rock formation. You will have to see the pictures to see what i am on about. Its a city built around a fort, the fort area itself is amazing. I think its one of the world heritage sites. Loads of little streets within the fort with little shops, cafes and random cows walking around
We decide to rent out motorbikes which was so much fun and headed out to the desert !!As you do. We went out to the place where all the tourist get there camels for there safari's trips. I have being on camels before and from this experience decided to opt out for the 3 day safari. So we drove on and came within 35K's of Pakistan. Its all desert all around us and here we are driving like nomads for as far as we could go. Finally a local man who lives in the desert stopped us and invited us back to his village for some local brew. I am sure when they saw us they only saw dollar signs but we had a good laugh with them he said for 50 rupees he would bring us for a hour or so thru the desert.
Of course we accepted and head off. It was lots of fun good a sore ass from it mind you.
So thing were really start to pick up I was finally enjoying myself here in India.
A few points about India so far
- Man is it hot here the hottest i have ever felt.
- Cows live and rome the streets living on cardboard and other rubbish!!!
