Hello all
Time again to fill in on the story so far in India,
So much has happened like always. I am catching up on what i said and where we were up to on the last blog.
Looking back on the last blog it was camel rides in the desert and forts lots of old forts.
Well since then we have travelled over a whooping 3000k!!! Yep its hard to believe we have done it. India is so so big, Ireland would fit 100 times and more into this mad place. The people here are weird mix of people. This county has all sorts, it not like any other country in which I have visited before. I guess you get that with over 1 billion population!!
We are currently (Monz and me) in Goa and i am as sick as a dog. I got the bad news from the doc yesterday that I was indeed food poisoned.... Grrrrrrrrrrrrr and lots of pain.
I will fill you in on this later.
Ok so we left Jasimer and headed to a city with a mere population of 13 million(tiny place). Jodfour is very similar to Jasimer in the way it has a massive fort on a hill but the fort was even more impressive than Jasimer. We did loads of sight seeing, did the tourist thing and abit more, stayed in a well nice hotel for 200 rupees (about 3 pounds).
It was around this time we decided to make a plan and go east to Agra and Varanasi and head south to the beaches of Goa. There was a few stops along the way too. After all the sight seeing it became all towns where like the next one.
So Agra how was it??? Well the Taj Mahal is here yep it is impressive,
Got some wicked pictures really enjoyed it had even more fun on a old scooter riding through the town. Agra itself is a complete dump, Myself and Monz beelined the City called Varanasi.
Our mode of transport from city to city was the sleeper trains in which i was telling you more about in the previous blogs. Sure its not best way to travel and sure its a uncomfortable as hell but when will i be doing it again. At some stages on this trip we had to fight for our seats. At later stages monz found a way of bribing the ticket inspector.
Well we are in India a country which is filled with corruption. It would take too long for me to tell all the stories. I did bring my laptop and probably could have done so but 3 Keys on the laptop have stoped working. Not just any keys A S D keys so typing is near impossible. Ah well, its all part of the India experience.
Varanasi is the holiest city in India and the Indian people are very religious. They live work and breath by there religion. I was told by every person who spoke to me about India said i must go to Varanasi so we did !! Its really was a fascinating city we both saw things there which would stay with us for the rest of our lifes. You may be thinking what you on about fool !! Varanasi is famous for it Gaths along the Ganges river. The gaths are places were people come to worship, wash, pray, sing and burn the there loved ones.. Yes it all happens here truly a amazing site. The city itself was filled with building which were 100's of year old, at times the city was a bit too much as there so many people in such a small place. The burning Ghats were a little surreal, have a look at the picture.
Basically what happens here and has been going on for over 3000 years so they say is people are cremated along the river bed on large timber fire. It was the weirdest thing i has seen so far in India. This place was going 24 hours and there where about 8 fires going on each ghat. We were told that there is 3 burning ghats along this part of the river. The bodies are laid along the river for about a hour the timber logs are loaded up the familys say the prayers and the the fire is started. This part is a bit sick and i had to leave soon after seeing these poor people getting cremated. You can see the body in full view been burned to a crisp. Beside the ghat is sort of hotel for the dead or near dead. People who are waiting to die go there in fact lots of people from all over India come here to be cremated as its a very holy city.
After our spiritual visit to Varanasi we headed off again on the 'quest for the golden spud'.
Our next designation was one of my favourite places so far in India. It was a small city only 1 mil population. Ajanta Caves was the reason we stoped in the city and we really glad we did.
The Caves we cut by hand into the side of these cliffs and were truly amazing site to see, There is about 25 caves in totally all really massive all down by hand (maybe a hammer or 2). The caves we forgotten about until the English were in India and a soldier was out hunting with his mates way back in the day. The story goes he was hunting tigers as you do, the tiger was retreated into one of the caves and the rest is history.
Man was it hot on the day we went i think it was hitting up on the 40's. Its not good for 2 paddy's to be in such heat. The mozzies here were bloody massive the biggest i seen so far.
With all the pictures taken we were again on the road or train as it was on our way to Bombay. We had a bit of a laugh on the way getting onto the wrong train. Blagging the rest of the way !!!
Trying to get a cop to shoot his gun out the window of a train we were on (true story). My old BBC work pass come in handy in. I got so bored in i decided to tell a group of lads that came over to us that i was a reporter for the BBC. The loved it and soon enough there was massive interest in us, Great !!! We good 5 star treatment O YA...
Good old Bombay such a difference was the city that we though we were in another country. It was such a relief to be a place or city where there was a small bit of order and it was so much cleaner too. It was around this time that things started to go or feel a bit 'pear shaped' for poor old me.
As much as i was enjoying this place my health was not, I was so sick and could not make out what is was. At first i though it was just the heat and sleep it off, Next day all was good until midday then the fever started again. Doctor Monz was always there with 'ya be all right' mmmm but it was not working one minute i was really hot the next i was freezing. We decided to go to the cinema in waste a couple of hours. Must add the movie was really good I think its called ''Shooter'' or something. I walked out and i knew i not good at all, I was really sick !!!!! I had to find a toilet quick and made a beeline for a really famous bar in Bombay, Would you believe along the way to the bar with me sweating so bad i could hardly see out my glasses. I was approached by a guy who asked me would i like to be in a bollywood movie (I got asked later that day walking down the main street in Bombay would i like to be in the movie i was later informed that the some times look for foreign people down at the tourist areas to be in the Bollywood Films). I keep on walking nearly running passed told the guy no cant talk. I was nearly on the Verge of fainting at this stage. I later found out from the doctor down here in Goa that i was in fact food poisoned, Yep i had been food poisoned a man was it a serious pain in the ass. I didn't actually go to the doctor until myslef and Monz got the the lovely Goa. I went to doc thinking i had sun stroke then he gave me the bad news and said all things that a doc would say. I got 2 japs in the ass for my troubles !!
Was feeling very sadated and had to drive my scooter home, That night was one of the scariest night i have had in a long time, I had just got 2 jabs in my ass and he gave a prescription that would keep any drug user happy. That night i had to take over 10 different pills I was think inside my head overdose on the way.. I was in my room going crazy the drug were playing tricks on my mind. The next 5 hours were hell i was hallucinating, freaking out thinking all sorts of weird stuff. I was talking to walls, talking to fan in my room. You might be thinking what the Fuxk but i was so far out of it on these drugs. Monz could only but laugh when i told him the next day. I was so happy that i was alive. I have had the odd drug experience or 2 mmmmmmm but this was a very scary night for me.
Ok so I am sort of over the food poisoned thing and well Goa is seriously good fun !!! Seriously its just what we needed. Monz loves the place 2. For around 450 rupees you get your own room a nice scooter and beautiful beaches.
We have been buzzing around Goa like we know the place for years,

Yesterday we went to a wicked hippie market, bought some presents saw some hippies well out of it. Had a few beers and got lost on the way home. We found a go cart place in the middle of nowhere on the way back stayed there for a bit kicked Monz ass, Of course there was something wrong with his bike........ Will be back there later today for sure.
Ok thats about everything from the pair of us. All good apart form the food poisoning thing. More later
